What is Adventure Camp?
 
It is mid-summer opportunity for Cub Scouts, Webelos, and AOL’s. Each group will participate in a program designed specifically for their rank in scouting. 
 
Adventure Camp is an opportunity for Cubs Scouts to experience a resident camp where they spend 4 days  and 3 nights at Camp Thunder on the Lawhorn Scouting Base.
Days are packed with fun and advancements. Your meals will be served in the air-conditioned camp dining hall and you will bunk in a platform tent with another Scout or your parent.  Hot showers and flushable toilets are also available in campsites. The camp maintains a full-time health facility and provides certified aquatics instructors, trained shooting sports personnel, as well as a full-time qualified staff.
 
 
Who Can Come to Adventure Camp
 
Cub Scouts entering the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades in the fall can swim, hike, learn handicrafts and much more with there parent partner!
 
Cub Scouts entering the 4th grade in the Fall will participate in a Scouts BSA Summer Camp environment where  throughout there stay they will sign up for 8 of the following different electives
 
Adventures in Science
Aquanaut
Castaway
Earth Rocks
Aware and Care
Build it
Into the Wild
Into the Woods
Moviemaking
Game design
 
Scouts entering the 5th grade in the Fall will be able to choose to participate in the electives classes or a special AOL adventure where the will begin to harness their basic Scout Skills. The adventure will include canoeing basics, introduction to Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat, Leave No Trace, and setting up a camp. 
Please be advised that this event is for Scouts only. No accommodations are available for siblings.
 
What to bring?
 
Toiletries, towels, clothing for 4 days and 3 nights, water shies or extra shoes, rain gear,swimsuit, sunscreen, insect repellent, WATER BOTTLE, flashlight, sleeping gear, money for trading post (30 dollars recommended) Scout uniform, trash bags, hat Health Form A and B.
 
When and how much?
 
Check-in is Wednesday, July the 15th at 1:00pm and check-out is Saturday, July 18th at 9:00am
 
$100 dollar for all scouts and 75 for all accompanying adults
 
 
CANCELLATION POLIC
Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the event will be eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the event are transferable, BUT not refundable. All requests for transfers must be made in writing to the Camping Department. No refunds will be granted due to weather conditions.
                                                                                                                                         Minimum leadership criteria is as follows:
All Tigers Cub through Bear Cub must be accompanied by a parent
1 Webelos = 1 Parent/Gaurdian
2-8 Webelos = 2 Adults
9-12 Webelos = 3 Adults
13-16 Webelos = 4 Adults
 
ALL ADULT MUST BE A REGISTERED LEADERS WITHIN THEIR RESPECTIVE PACK FOR THE DURATION OF CAMP.
*Proof of YPT and membership will be required for packs sending leadership with their Webelos.
