Level 2 C.O.P.E. Instructor Training

April 27, 2019 & May 3-5, 2019

By Invitation Only.  Must currently be a Level 1 COPE instructor with potential and skills to be a Level 2 Instructor.  Level 2 instructors supervise both high and low COPE programs, and run climbing and rappelling towers.  This class will draw students all councils within Area 9 and qualifies Level 2 Instructors to work any camps within participating councils.  Training will be at Lawhorn Scouting Base.  Dates:  27 April (8am - 5pm Saturday), AND 3-5 May (7 pm Friday night, 8am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday) 2019.  Participants must successfully complete ALL training to earn a Level 2 card.  Housing will be available the night of 26 April for those desiring it.  Lunch will be provided 27 April, B/L/D on 4 May, and B/L on 5 May.

Times:             4/26 Friday - Registration from 5:00pm - 7:00pm 

                       4/27 Saturday – Sessions all day - 8:00am - 5:00pm

                       5/3   Friday - Registration from 5:00pm - 7:00pm

                       5/4   Saturday – Sessions all day - 8:00am - 5:00pm

                       5/5   Sunday - Sessions all day - 8:00am - 5:00pm

Cost:                $60.00 (includes camping fees, printed materials and instruction, and meals)

Deadline:          Registration due 2 weeks prior to event.

Qualifications:   Current COPE Level 1 Instructor, and age 21 or older.

Meals:              April 27, 2019 - Lunch

                       May 4, 2019 - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

                       May 5, 2019 - Breakfast, Lunch

Note:  Each participant will need to fill out the BSA Health & Medical Form, Parts A, B & C and turn in at time of arrival for the training.  This form can be found here.

Also, each participant will need to complete the Climb on Safely training online before attending this training and present the completion certificate upon arrival Friday evening.
