Hiking

Hike to Indian Camp and visit the area that the Creek Indians camped, hike along the magnificent Flint River and see the locally famous Dripping rock or hike ot one of the water falls on the reservation. Trails are open to the general public for hiking; however you must sign in at the bulletin board and sign out when you leave.

Rules to obey while hiking the trails at Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base:
1. Sign in at the bulletin board upon arrival.
2. No hiking allowed between dusk and dawn.
3. Do not destroy or cut plants or trees.
4. Do not disturb the wildlife.
5. Pack it in, pack it back out.
6. Leave an area cleaner than you found it.
7. Sign out when you leave.
Failure to follow rules will result in you being asked to leave the property.

These rules are from Leave No Trace, a program that is operated by Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base. Information is included on teaching the guidelines of Leave No Trace and a patch is available to Scouts.
