Every Boy Deserves A Trained Leader
Every Leader Deserves A Capable Trainer
James E. West identified training as the most important need of the new Scouting organization; training continues to be a top priority of the Boy Scouts of America today. Learn the importance of good communication, how adults learn, how to involve a group, train effectively, add excitement to your training sessions, and much, much more!
This course is required for all Wood Badge and National Youth Leader Training (NYLT) staff. The Trainer’s EDGE is meant to supplement the practice offered through Wood Badge and NYLT staff development, with a focus on the participant, while raising the level of skill a trainer brings to the staff experience. Only practice can polish these skills, but this course is intended to “train the trainer” on behaviors and resources while offering hands-on experience in methods and media
The Boy Scout Rank Requirements ask boys to use the EDGE method in teaching other scouts. If you would like to learn how to assist the boys in your troop to utilize the EDGE method of teaching we encourage you to attend the Trainer’s EDGE course.
This course is open to all adults and Boy Scout, Varsity and Venture youth that want to learn how to teach using the EDGE method.
