Invest in Scouting
The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training. In the future, Scouting will continue to offer young people responsible fun and adventure, instill in young people lifetime values and develop in them ethical character as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law, and train young people in citizenship, service and leadership. There are numerous ways to invest in Scouting. Investments that can benefit youth today, as well as into the future.
Friends of Scouting
Each year parents of Scouts and community members in the Flint River Council are asked to contribute to the annual Friends of Scouting campaign. This campaign is an essential component of the funding efforts for our council, raising over 21% of the council`s annual income. See the brochure below for more detail on giving. Remember, all gifts are tax deductible. For a printer friendly version, just click on the brochure below.

Camp Capital Campaign
The Capital Campaign of the Flint River Council will help to keep Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base (formerly Thunder Scout Reservation) as a positive influence in the lives of thousands of Scouts.
Product Sales
The Flint River Council conducts a Popcorn and Camp Card Sale that allows each Scouting unit the opportunity to earn funds to provide an "Ideal Year of Scouting" to their youth.
Council Endowment Programs
The endowment fund is one of the best ways to ensure our council continues to offer the outstanding program it now has and also grow to meet the needs of the youth and communities that we serve. Gifts are made to the endowment fund by a donor through a charitable contribution above and beyond an annual FOS contribution. Many donors give to the endowment fund through a bequest, planned gift arrangement, or one of the Heritage Society programs. Only the interest off the endowment is used by the council. The principal is never touched; therefore, an individual’s gift to endowment is permanent.
